Looking for a Creative Way for Students to Express Themselves?

Use this activity for a Journal:
Each student can create & decorate a homemade journal (or binder) in a fashion that expresses his/her personality!!  After presenting to the class, everyone knows a little more about each other.  The students have these personal journals to write in--all year long!  It's also fun to see how things change about them over the course of a semester or even the year. Using creativity to express personalities is sometimes easier than just writing about it too!  This is a FREE item in my TpT store right now, so get it for your use, even if you decide to use it later!

Enjoy!

I'm linking up to A Teacher's Treasure 2012 Resolutions.  Come on over to my blog to read about my 2012 Resolutions (love that Mor is going to try to keep us accountable - I NEED that), and if you have any advice, I could use some.

While you're visiting, if you have a SMARTboard, be sure to pick up a copy of my New Year's Resolutions freebie.  It's a fun little activity for the students' first day back.

Happy New Year!

Jen

It's that time of year......

....when you start to create your Valentine themed lessons!!

Did you ever use that heart in the MSWORD drawing objects??
What a weird shape!!

It's easy to make your own.

Just draw 2 circles, an isosceles triangle, and a small square to cover the empty spot!

I added 3D discs behind the hearts to make candy hearts. Pretty cute ehhh??

I used them in this product. Click on it to take a look.

Middle School / High School New Year's Activity

I love the fresh start of a New Year and all the excitment that it brings. However, I always have the same New Year's resolutions - eat better, workout more often, and learn to be a better cook!  I think I've improved my cooking this year (thanks to Pinterest!) but still need to workout a little more diligently.

Here's a fun activity to do with your students to ease back into the swing of things after the holiday break.  Let your students have some fun exploring their Past, Present & Future in this poster and writing assignment. This assignment is a great opportunity to talk about goal setting with your students.

I wish you all the best with your New Year's Resolutions!  Sending wishes your way for a happy and healthy new year in 2012.

New Years Resolutions with Children
