Common Core and Fractions Galore!

I don't know when testing happens in your state, but we start next Tuesday! That means I am down to the wire for helping my students review the concepts they're still struggling with. When looking back at the data for our last benchmark test, I noticed that my students all struggled with equivalent fractions and identifying fractions on a numberline.

With that in mind, I created a way for my students to practice these concepts through self-discovery in a hands-on manner. We reviewed the concepts, defined the academic vocabulary, then jumped into plotting fractions on our own numberlines and finding equivalent fractions. Here are some pictures of what we did:
